Angat Dam water level drops anew
Water levels at Angat Dam in Bulacan continued to drop Thursday, as did those in four other major dams in Luzon, PAGASA said.
But water levels in four other major Luzon dams went up, days after the state weather agency declared the start of the rainy season.
As of 6 a.m. Thursday, PAGASA said Angat's water level went down to 171.73 meters from 172.04 meters Wednesday. Angat supplies more than 90 percent of Metro Manila's water needs.
Other dams whose water levels dropped Thursday included:
- La Mesa: 78.85 from 78.86 meters Wednesday
- San Roque: 235.49 from 235.72 meters Wednesday
- Magat: 180.58 from 181.60 meters Wednesday
- Caliraya: 287.85 from 287.9 meters Wednesday
Meanwhile, dams whose water levels went up from Wednesday included:
- Ipo: 100.44 from 100.38 meters Wednesday
- Ambuklao: 742.96 from 742.86 meters Wednesday
- Binga: 570.85 from 570.56 meters Wednesday
- Pantabangan: 180.24 from 180.21 meters Wednesday.
