Korean student drowns in Cebu beach resort

What was supposed to be a fun time at an outing turned tragic for a group of Korean nationals after a student drowned while swimming at a beach resort in Cebu Sunday. Radio dzBB reported Monday that the victim, initially identified as Kim Sung Moon, 25, drowned at the Tambuli Beach Resort in Cebu shortly before noon Sunday. Kim was a student of the Korean International Language School. Sketchy initial reports indicated he rushed to the water shortly after he and his colleagues arrived at the resort. He went 25 meters from shore and nothing was heard from him until a passing lifeguard noticed him and brought him to shore. Attempts to revive him failed. - GMANews.TV
