Jealousy eyed in fatal hacking of 2 men in Pangasinan

Jealousy is being eyed as the motive behind the fatal hacking of two men in Bani town in Pangasinan over the weekend.

Police are now looking for one Randy Neri for the killing of Ryan Narca and Jay-Ar Obtanila last Friday, GMA Dagupan reported Monday.

Narca died instantly from hack wounds to the neck while Obtanila succumbed to hack wounds in the head and neck.

"Yung mga tao roon may narinig silang motor na umalis, pero hindi na po dumaan dito sa may highway. Dumaan na dun papuntang Mabini," said Bani police deputy head Senior Inspector Victor Abenojar.

An initial investigation showed one of the victims was the recent boyfriend of Neri's ex-partner.

Abenojar said Neri called up his former partner and heard a male voice on the other end.

"Tumawag siya dun sa dating partner niya, may narinig siyang boses ng lalaki na 'bakit mo pa sinasagot yan,' sabi raw," he said.

This made Neri go all the way from Zambales to Bani and head for the house of his former partner.

Unfortunately for the two victims, they arrived in the area at about the same time, and Neri attacked them. — Joel Locsin/LGB, GMA News
