NGCP: 9-hour brownout in parts of Cagayan
Parts of Cagayan province may experience a power interruption lasting up to nine hours on July 2, Thursday, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said.
In an advisory, the NGCP said the power outage is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Affected are areas serviced by CAGELCO I (Alcala Substation and Feeders 1, 2 and 3); and the entire CAGELCO II franchise area.
The NGCP said the affected areas include:
- Iguig, Amulung, Alcala, Baggao, Lallo, Gattaran, Aparri, Lasam, Allacapan, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Sta. Teresita, Gonzaga, Sta. Ana, Abulug, Pamplona, Ballesteros, Sanchez Mira, Claveria, Sto. Nino, Praxedes and parts of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- Pudtol, Luna, Flora, Sta. Marcela, and Calanasan, Apayao
- Pudtol, Luna, Flora, Sta. Marcela, and Calanasan, Apayao
It said this is due to the functional testing and "energization" of new auxiliary equipment and devices at Tuguegarao Substation, as part of the Luzon Substation Expansion Project. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
