LOOK: Ilocos Sur seawall, homes wrecked by big waves
Photos by DANTE PERELLO, GMA News
Enhanced monsoon rains sent waves smashing through a seawall in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur in the early hours of Wednesday, GMA News' Dante Perello reported.

The residents of Brgy. San Pedro said they had been preparing to evacuate the area when the sea wall crumbled at around 2 a.m.
Five homes were destroyed and ten people were injured, according to Perello's report. The residents reported 10-foot-high waves slamming against the homes' foundations before the concrete ground broke up.
Typhoon Falcon (Chan-Hom) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Tuesday night, adding to the strength of the southwest monsoon and causing big waves along coastal areas in its path.

In its 5 p.m. bulletin Wednesday, PAGASA Falcon maintained its strength and direction on its way out of the PAR without making landfall. The state weather bureau also warned that enhanced monsoon rains may trigger flash floods and landslides in Western Luzon and the National Capital Region. — BM, GMA News
