More than 900 families forcibly evacuated in Bulacan amid heavy rain, floods —report
More than 900 families were forcibly evacuated from their homes amid continuous rain and flooding, state-run Philippine Information Agency reported Friday.
The PIA cited a report from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office indicating the affected areas included Meycauayan City and Sta. Maria town.
A breakdown of the forced evacuation is as follows:
Meycauayan City:
- 10 families from Brgy. Gasak
- 43 families from Brgy. Langka
- 53 families from Brgy. Malhacan
- 800 families from Brgy. Zamora
- 7 families from Brgy. Longos
- 50 people from Brgy. Pandayan
- 40 people from Brgy. Calvario
Sta. Maria town
5 families from Brgy. Bagbaguin The PIA earlier said Sta. Maria town was flooded, with floods in Barangay Makaiban reaching 1.5 to two feet.
Marilao City's Barangay Ibayo had 0.2 to 0.3 feet, while Barangay Lias' floods reached 0.5 to one foot. Poblacion 2's floods reached 0.2 to 0.4 foot.
In Meycauayan, flooded areas reached up to four feet (Barangay Malhacan) and three feet (Bayugo, Gasak).
Floods in Pampanga
Meanwhile, the PDRRMC in Pampanga listed the following flooded barangays in Macabebe town as of 9 a.m.:
- San Gabriel: 2 feet
- Saplad David: 2.5 feet
- Castuli and Purok Malande: 2 feet
- San Francisco Caduang Tete: 2 feet
- Arabia and Champaca: 2 feet
- San Isidro (Main Road): 4 feet
PAGASA earlier said that while Typhoon Falcon (Chan-Hom) had exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility, rainy weather will still prevail into next week. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
