PAGASA: Water levels at Angat, 5 major Luzon dams go up

Water levels at Angat Dam in Bulacan and five other major dams in Luzon went up in the last 24 hours, state weather agency PAGASA said Monday.

In its 6 a.m. update, PAGASA said water levels at Angat were at 174.91 meters, 0.49 meter higher than the 174.42 meters Sunday.

But this is still below the 180-meter critical level for irrigation for Angat, which supplies more than 90 percent of Metro Manila's water needs.

Water levels at La Mesa Dam in Quezon City continued to go down, and settled to 79.41 meters Monday, 0.19 meter below Sunday's 79.6 meters.

Five other dams had their water levels go up compared to Sunday:
  • Ipo: 100.78 from 100.15 meters Sunday
  • Binga: 574.38 from 574.14 meters Sunday
  • San Roque: 240.87 from 239.14 meters Sunday
  • Pantabangan: 179.87 from 179.27 meters Sunday
  • Caliraya: 287.92 from 287.28 meters Sunday

Meanwhile, two other dams' water levels went down:
  • Ambuklao: 751.59 from 751.65 meters Sunday
  • Magat: 174.36 from 174.68 meters Sunday.
