‘Twin’ fetuses found inside Davao City boarding house
Police are investigating who left "twin" fetuses inside a plastic water bottle in a boarding house in Barangay 2-A in Davao City.
The bottle with the fetuses was discovered Tuesday by a resident, GMA Davao reported on Wednesday.
Barangay tanod Roy Baron, who reported to the police, theorized the fetuses may be of twins about three months old.
He did not discount the possibility a boarder in the boarding house may have been the mother.
"Ini-report sa akin na may iniwang fetus(es) doon sa boarding house. Nakita naman natin. Akala nga nung nakakita ay [bote ng] suka pero nang tiningnan ko, fetus talaga," he said.
Police are tracking down the boarder and her supposed live-in partner, who reportedly left the house before the fetuses were discovered.
"Ayon sa imbestigasyon ng (Women and Children's Desk), napag-alaman na ang fetus(es) allegedly iniwan lang sa boarder. Nilagay sa plastic bottle, doon nilagay ang bata," said PO2 Bernadette Lanticse of the San Pedro police's Women and Children's Protection Desk.
Since January, GMA News Online has reported at least five incidents of abandoned fetuses in different parts of the country.
In January, a fetus was found dumped in a gutter in Iloilo City. In Bacolod City, a restless dog had dug up the remains of 5-month-old fetus in March.
On June 15, a fetus was reported found in Lucban Quezon near a grassy area, while on June 19, another one was found in Pangasinan, and on the day after (June 20), another one was reported found in the province. — Joel Locsin/LBG, GMA News
