6 dead in Negros Occidental bus accident
Six people were killed while several others were injured Wednesday in a vehicular accident involving two Ceres buses in Negros Occidental province, police said.
Provincial police chief Sr/Supt. Samuel Nacion said the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. along the national highway of Brgy. Sto Nino in Enrique B. Magalona town.
One of the buses was headed toward Bacolod City while the other was on its way to Escalante, Nacion said. The cause of the accident was still unclear as investigation was ongoing as of posting time.
Those injured were already brought to the nearest medical facility while the fatalities have yet to be identified, Nacion said.
The driver and conductor of the bus en route to Escalante are currently under the custody of the local police. —Andrei Medina/KBK, GMA News
