NGCP: 9-hour power interruption in Ilocos Norte, Sur on July 31

Parts of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur may experience a nine-hour power interruption on Friday, July 31, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said.

 

In an advisory issued Monday, the NGCP said there will be a scheduled shutdown of transmission facilities that may lead to an interruption from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

The NGCP said this will affect the Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative (ISECO) - Narvacan, Vigan and Sto. Domingo Substations and the entire Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) franchise area.

The NGCP said the power interruption will facilitate the safe stringing of the ongoing San Esteban-Laoag 230-kilovolt transmission line project that will cross the energized 69- and 115-kilovolt lines. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
