Benguet province now under state of calamity
The provincial government of Benguet on Monday declared a state of calamity following days of incessant rains due to Typhoon Ineng.

According to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), all 12 who died in the province were caused by landslides.
Four people were also injured and 12 were missing. The missing individuals are small-scale miners who were inside temporary camp houses in Barangay Taneg, Mankayan town.
Benguet Governor Nestor Fongwan said that mining activities have been suspended during the typhoon.

A report on "News TV Live" said that many barangays in the province also remained isolated because of clogged roads. Power supplies in four towns in the northern part of Benguet are also out.
Prior to the declaration, classes in all levels have been suspended in Benguet.
Ineng exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility Monday midnight, but it continues to enhance the southwest monsoon bringing heavy rains many parts of Luzon such as Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)--Benguet included, Mimaropa, Cavite, Batangas, Zambales, and Bataan. —Trisha Macas/ALG, GMA News
