Cavite mass shooting survivor recounts ordeal

A survivor of Monday's Amadeo, Cavite farm shooting, in which five people were killed and two others injured, on Tuesday recalled the suddenness of the events.

The survivor, the farm's caretaker, told GMA 7 news program “24 Oras”, “Pinasok lang po kami tapos biglang nagputukan na po.”

In his panic, he could not tell how many shooters there were. He and another survivor escaped harm by crawling through a grove of banana trees.

The survivors have given their statements to the Cavite police special task group that is investigating the shooting.

Meanwhile, the two victims injured in the shooting are recuperating in a medical facility, where they are heavily guarded.

Region-4A Calabarzon PIO Chief Sr. Insp. Chit Gaoiran said the injured victims' statements might be the key to solving the case.

“Once na puwede na natin sila makausap malaki po 'yung mabibigay na tulong nila para masolve itong kaso,” she said. — Andrei Medina/DVM, GMA News
