Korean national dies after diving in Boracay

A Korean national died after suffering from pulmonary edema while diving in waters off Aklan, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported Sunday.

 

The PCG identified the victim as Ho Dong Eom, 31.

 

It said that according to the diving instructor Ivan Tabuna, the Korean national experienced difficulty in breathing minutes after resurfacing from a dive in Boracay.

 

The PCG said its team in Boracay found the victim in an unstable condition on the floating platform of the Marine Walk Helmet Diving and rushed him to the nearest shoreline.

 

"Eom, however, was pronounced dead due to pulmonary edema, or the fluid accumulation in the lungs," the PCG said in its report. —ALG, GMA News
