More than 100 families affected in Zamboanga Sibugay floods

Flooding in two barangays in the municipality of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay affected more than 170 families, a report on Unang Balita on Thursday said.

The floodwaters reached as high as 10 feet in the barangays of Don Andres and Veterans Village after two hours of heavy rain.

The municipal rescue teams immediately responded to assist residents, the report said.

Authorities rescued those trapped in their homes, including children.

The local government has extended assistance to the affected residents, the report said. —KG, GMA News
