Truck plunges into ravine in T'boli; 2 dead

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – Two persons died after the forward truck they were riding plunged into a ravine along a highway in T'boli, South Cotabato on Tuesday morning.

 

Chief Inspector Josie Marie Simangan, T’boli town chief of police, said the two still unidentified victims died instantly due to severe injuries in various parts of their bodies.

 

Simangan said two more passengers of the forward truck were hurt.

 

He said the highway in Barangay Salacafe, that the truck was traversing was wet and slippery.

 

Moderate to heavy rains have been experienced in T'boli town since Monday due to thunderstorm spawned by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (IZTC), which was affecting Mindanao.

 

“Let us reduce speed along the national highway especially when it's wet and slippery,” Simangan appealed to drivers. —Williamor Magbanua/ALG, GMA News
