IN PHOTOS: Zamboanga City moving on from devastating 2013 siege


In September 2013, the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) attacked Zamboanga City, plunging it into a 20-day crisis that left 12 civilians dead and 72 others wounded.  

But while the scars of the siege still plague the city, a recent visit by GMA News Online showed that Zamboanga City has started to move on from the attack that turned some parts of the city  into a war zone two years ago.

Rowhouses have been built to replace the homes that had been burned down, and schools and barangay halls are being re-established. Children have gone back to school, and some residents are able to move into their new homes.
