Cops nab 25 drug suspects in Cavite raids
A total of 25 people, including a most-wanted drug suspect, were arrested on Wednesday in separate anti-drug raids in Cavite.
GMA News' John Consulta reported on "News To Go" that 13 houses in the province were targeted in the raids that led to the arrest of 25 suspects and recovery of assorted firearms, ammunition, and suspected illegal drugs.
Consulta said the raiding teams were composed of operatives from the Cavite Provincial Police Office, Cavite Special Weapons and Tactics, mobile patrol unit, provincial anti-illegal drugs task force, and provincial intelligence branch.
Also, the report said authorities needed to use a battering ram at mallet to break into some targeted houses.
Included in the raid were five houses in Datu Esmael in Dasmariñas, two in Imus, and one each from Silang, Noveleta, Bacoor, Ternate, General Aguinaldo, an Naic.
Among the 25 arrested was a notorious drug personality, who was tagged most-wanted in Gen Aguinaldo town and number 9 most wanted in General Mariano Alvarez town.
The raid yielded six assorted rifles, 1 hand grenade, 1 revolver, various types of ammunition, and illegal drugs.
Consulta quoted provincial intelligence branch chief Angel Beros as saying raids will continue against illegal drugs and loose firearms, especially in the run-up to the 2016 elections. — LBG, GMA News
