Yema cake downs 25 people in South Cotabato

Yema roll cake downed 25 people, including a 10-month-old baby, on Wednesday in Tupi, South Cotabato.

A report on "Unang Balita" also said 22 of the supposed food-poisoning victims were rushed to a hospital.

According to the municipal sanitary inspector, the victims suffered from stomachache, vomiting, and body weakness.

The report quoted one of the victims as saying they bought the yema roll from a bakeshop, and that it tasted like [shrimp paste].

Local health authorities are already investigating the incident. — LBG, GMA News
