Boy in Ilocos Norte loses finger to Piccolo firecracker


Weeks before the New Year's Eve revelry, an eight-year-old boy lost a part of his index finger to a Piccolo firecracker.

A GMA News TV Live report said that the Piccolo firecracker exploded right after it was lit by the boy in Ilocos Norte.

The boy's grandmother said that he was playing alone with the incident happened.

The boy was immediately rushed to the hospital after his three fingers were damaged by the firecracker's explosion.

 


The report said that doctors at the local hospital decided to cut the boy's index finger.

The report added that according to the provincial hospital, the boy was the fifth firecracker patient for the month of November. —ALG, GMA News
