Dealer, maker of fake P1,000 bills fall in Bulacan
The Bulacan police on Monday arrested two men suspected of peddling and manufacturing fake P1,000 bills, which have reportedly started to spread in the Central Luzon province. Radio station dzMM reported that lawmen apprehended the suspects, purportedly members of a counterfeiting ring, in Calumpit town on Monday morning. One of the men, identified as Renato Otis, was taken into custody during a buy-bust operation. He reportedly offered to pay P300 for each fake P1,000 bill. Senior Superintendent Asher Dolina, Bulacan police chief, was quoted as saying that Otis confessed that a certain "Tolentino" had been supplying him counterfeit cash. A search on "Tolentino's" home yielded fake bills and a number of firearms. The report said the Bulacan police conducted the search on the strength of a court-issued warrant. - GMANews.TV
