Female police recruit dies from heat stroke during training in Laguna

A female police trainee died after suffering from heat stroke during training in Camp Vicente Lim in Canlubang, Laguna on Monday morning.

The Police Regional Officer 4-A identified the victim as Vanessa Gannaban Tenoso, 28, of Cagayan Valley.

The report said the victim was a recruit of the Special Action Force.

Initial investigation showed that the victim was in formation with other police trainees when she collapsed at around 10 a.m.

She was rushed to the police camp's Health Service and later transferred to the San Jose Trauma Center, where was declared dead on arrival.

The regional police said that according to the autopsy report, the trainee died of cardiac arrest secondary to heat stroke. —report from Peewee Bacuño/ALG, GMA News
