Parricide charges being readied vs. husband in Sta. Rosa killings

Police are readying parricide charges against the husband of Pearl Helene Sta. Ana, who was brutally killed along with her one-year-old son in their home in Sta. Rosa, Laguna last March 2.

Senior Superintendent Montejo, director of the Laguna Provincial Police Office, said two counts of parricide will be filed against Ricardo Sta. Ana, who was identified by a self-confessed killer as the mastermind in the brutal killings of his own wife and son.

Montejo said that according to the suspect who surrendered to the police late last week, Ricardo was also the one who picked March 2 as the date of the killings, which falls on the couple's wedding anniversary.

Ricardo was initially tagged by the police as a "person of interest" in the killings.

Ramoncito Gallo, 25, surrendered last Friday and confessed to his role in the killings.

Gallo claimed that Ricardo paid him and his friend P30,000 each to kill his own wife and son, Denzel.

He also told the police that Ricardo asked them to make it look like robbery was the main motive in the attack.

Gallo had also said that jealousy was Ricardo's reason for ordering his own wife's killing. —ALG, GMA News
