Bus falls into ravine in Bohol; 2 killed, 11 hurt

Two persons were killed and 11 more were injured after a passenger bus fell into a ravine in Dimiao, Bohol, early Tuesday.

The local police said the Southern Star bus from Tagbilaran City was speeding along a highway in Barangay Tangohay when it fell into the ravine at around 4:12 a.m.

The local police has yet to identify the two fatalities.

Investigators said that according to the surviving passengers, driver Armand Morales fell asleep while driving the bus.

Morales is currently detained at the local police station, facing charges of two counts of homicide resulting in homicide and multiple physical injuries. —report from Leo Udtohan/ALG, GMA News
