LTFRB suspends bus firm's operation over deadly Lucena accident
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Wednesday suspended the operation of the AB Liner Bus company due to a deadly accident in Lucena City two weeks ago.
LTFRB Board Member Ariel Inton Jr. said the four units of the company will be placed under a 30-day preventive suspension pending investigations on the possible liability of the operator.
An AB Liner Bus unit with plate number DWU 555 driven by Alberto Jubilo was speeding along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Domoit when it collided with a jeepney loaded with coconut lumber last March 17.
The bus' conductor died in the accident and seven others were hurt.
"Haste results to waste. Driving recklessly results to death and injuries," Inton said.
He said the bus company's franchise may be cancelled if its operator is found "remiss of his duty and/or a CPC (Certificate of Public Convenience) violation was done." —ALG, GMA News
