CIDG arrests three suspects in drug raid in San Mateo, Rizal
Operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested three suspects during a raid at a house in San Mateo, Rizal.
Authorities seized several caliber.-22 bullets, knives, two-way radio, a sachet of suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia from the house of Jaime Montallana, one of the suspects, a report on News To Go on Thursday by Vonne Aquino said.
Montallana admitted that he owns the confiscated paraphernalia.
“Ginagamit ko po ‘yun, gumagamit po talaga ako ng drugs,” Montallana admitted.
Deputy Chief of CIDG-Rizal Russel Reburiano said they found Montallana in the restroom when they raided his house.
According to authorities, the suspects will face charges of violation of the gun ban of the Omnibus Election Code and Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, Montallana’s wife, Maritess Ontog, was also brought into custody to verify her identity.
Apparently, a certain Maritess Ontog had a warrant of arrest for kidnapping and child abuse.
Ontog denied the claim, saying the subject of the warrant is just her namesake. —Kiersnerr Gerwin Tacadena/KG, GMA News
