64-yr-old councilwoman shot dead in Quezon

A 64-year-old barangay councilwoman was shot dead in Candelaria, Quezon, Monday night.

Police identified the victim as Yolanda Regollo Vallecer, kagawad of Barangay Kinatihan II in Candelaria.

Investigators said Vallecer was on her way home when a gunman shot her twice at close range. The incident happened in Sitio Baking, Barangay Kinatihan II at around 7:45 p.m.

The victim died on the spot.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the councilwoman's killing. —Peewee Bacuño/ALG, GMA News
