2 suspected drug pushers killed in Batangas

Two suspected drug pushers were killed by policemen in Calatagan, Batangas, Sunday night.

The Batangas Police Provincial Office (PPO) identified the slain suspects as Felipe Eleponga alias Pipoy and Thomas Valdez.

Members of the provincial police's Intelligence Division and Anti-Illegal Drugs Operations Task Group raided Eleponga's house in Barangay Balibago at around 9:15 p.m.

Eleponga allegedly fired at the policemen serving a search warrant. The policemen fired back, fatally wounding the suspects.

The Batangas PPO said Eleponga was in its drug watchlist for the 1st District of Batangas.

It said that the police raiders seized a .38 revolver and a .45 pistol from the two suspects. An undetermined amount of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia were also recovered by the police.
