4 suspects killed in Bulacan anti-drug ops
Four more have been added to the growing list of drug suspects killed while trying to resist arrest, a report by GMA News' Marisol Abdurahman on "24 Oras" said Friday.
The report said the four alleged drug pushers were killed before dawn Friday in various areas in Bulacan — two in Meycauayan, one in Malolos and one in San Rafael.
"Nagsusugal lang daw sila, pero front lang nila yun. Talaga nagpa-pot session sila,"
said P/Supt. Lalaine Amparo, chief of Meycauayan Police, referring to the two slain suspects identified only as Tuklaw and Neneng.
The report said the unidentified suspect in San Rafael was killed when he tried to shoot it out with policemen manning a checkpoint.
"Siguro sa tingin niya kakayanin niya, in-engage niya. Then ang resulta nagpalitan sila ng putok," said P/Supt. Orlando Castil Jr, chief of San Rafael Police.
According to Bulacan police, 45 drug suspects have been killed in the province this month while trying to engage arresting officers. This does not include the 10 bodies found bearing signs of torture and with placards identifying them as drug pushers.
"They have this notion na pag nahuli sila papatayin sila so nakikipagsabayan sila," said Sr. Supt. Romeo Caramat, the provincial police director of Bulacan. "Yun po ang kadalasang nangyayari."
The report also said the Bulacan police is monitoring local government officials suspected to be involved in the illegal drug trade.
"Isang mayor atsaka isang former mayor," Caramat said. "They have some affiliation with drug pushers na we can consider as high-value targets."
"Parang they are categorized as protectors," he added without elaborating. —KBK, GMA News
