4 injured after carabao goes wild
Four revelers were hurt after a carabao went wild during the Subanen Festival in Ozamis City in Misamis Occidental, GMA News' Mark Salazar reported for "24 Oras."
The video taken of the incident showed that the carabao running after some women and children. After some residents were hurt, police officers on duty started shooting the animal.
The carabao was already down but the policemen still shot it in the head.
The carabao is part of an annual ritual performed during the town's fiesta celebration.
Authorities are investigating the incident to determine what caused the animal to leave its place and run after the people.
In 2009, a similar incident was recorded by GMA News' Howie Severino for the TV program "I Witness."
The video showed a carabao also going wild during a feast day celebration in Pulilan town, Bulacan.
The documentary showed that the animal was being hit and pushed to force it to kneel in front of the church before it tried to pry its way away from its handlers and go wild.
The carabao was strong enough to pull three other carabaos and destroy a waiting shed. But no one was injured during the incident. — BAP, GMA News
