Mayor warns ‘shabu queen’: Don’t use surname Abinal in drugs trade

MAGUING, Lanao del Sur — A supposed "drug queen" arrested last week is being warned against using the surname "Abinal," the mayor in this town said.

Maguing mayor Mamaulan Abinal Molok tod GMA News Online that Johaira Macabuat alias "Marimar" —who was tagged one of Mindanao's shabu queens— has no right to use Abinal because she has been divorced from her husband Johary Abinal for 14 years.

Molok said Marimar was arrested for illegal drugs in Cagayan de Oro City last week. Records show that she is presently  married to Suharto Macabuat.

He issued the statement to clear his name from the activities of "drug queen."

"I need to correct local reports linking Abinal to a drugs dealer group of the same name," Molok said.

Moreover, he said the Abinals are supporting the anti-illegal drugs campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Also, he said that he met with PNP Provincial director S/Supt Duran to discuss the matter with him and the possible coordination with his office about possible illegal activities in his town. — Mariz Revales/LBG, GMA News
