Cebu woman nabbed for selling nude photos of her own daughters online

A woman was arrested in Cebu for selling nude photographs of her daughters to a foreigner online, a report by GMA News' Nico Sereno on "24 Oras" said Wednesday.

The woman, identified only as Brenda, was arrested on Saturday after she sent a photograph of her two- and five-year-old daughters taking a bath near a well in Brgy. Buagsong in Cordova town.

The report said an American man promised to pay Brenda $70 or P3,300 for the photos. She, however, never received the money.

Before this, Brenda had chatted with the foreigner online where he paid her $15 or P600 for a selfie.

Brenda said this was the first time she sent nude photos of her daughters online but police stated that she has been under watch for transacting with pedophiles for a long time.

"Kung mas matagal na ako nito sana malaki na ang aming bahay wala na nga kami halos makain sa amin nagtulongtulong lang ako sa aking ina sa pagtitinda," said Brenda, who was arrested in a sting operation.

According to the PNP Women and Children's Protection Center, Brenda has returned to the same money remittance center over 70 times in the past to claim money from customers.

Police also allegedly found her livestreaming her nude children when they raided her home.

Despite this, Brenda claimed innocence and said she never expected the exchange to turn out this way.

"Kasi akala ko mabuti ang kanyang intension pero hindi ako nag expect 'yon lang talagang nasa balon sir hindi din ako nag-expect na aabot sa ganito ang sitwasyon," she said.

The mother of two will be charged with qualified trafficking and violating the Cybercrime Prevention Act. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
