6 construction workers missing as cofferdam in Quezon collapses

Six construction workers went missing after a cofferdam collapsed due to a flashflood in General Nakar, Quezon on Sunday.

A report on Unang Balita identified the six workers as David Giagi Jr., Roland Sanchez, Danny Harnois, Simion Sig-od, Fedie Sanadan and Zenith Picat.

One worker earlier rescued, Salvador Pacling, had said that one of his fellow workers has already drowned.

The collapsed cofferdam was located between the Sumag River in Barangay Umiray, General Nakar in Quezon and Doña Remedios Trinidad in Angat, Bulacan.

Vicente Tomazar, head of the Office of Civil Defense in Calabarzon, said rescue operations are ongoing for the missing workers. —ALG, GMA News
