Manhunt on against Cavite barangay chairman allegedly involved in drugs

Police in Cavite have launched manhunt operations against an barangay captain after the seizure of drugs and arrest of four men during a raid at his house in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

A report on News To Go identified the barangay official as Dirimpasun Bong Pangandag, chairman of Barangay Datu Esmael in Dasmariñas.

During a raid by members of the Cavite Provincial Police Office, policemen caught three men in the act of using drugs inside the house of the barangay chairman.

One more suspect, an alleged drug runner of the barangay official, was arrested during the raid.

Esmael was not in his house during the operation.

Police seized an unregistered firearm and at least P100,000 worth of shabu.

The Cavite police said Barangay Datu Esmael is a known drop-off of illegal drugs being sold in several areas in Calabarzon.

Police said the barangay chairman leads the illegal drug trade in the area. Relatives of the chairman denied the allegation. —report from John Consulta/ALG, GMA News
