Baliuag University cancels classes anew over bomb threat
Baliuag University in Baliwag, Bulacan cancelled its classes on Wednesday over a bomb threat.
In an announcement, the university said classes on all levels were suspended "as a precautionary measure due to a threat received today."
"The university security group is working closely with the Baliwag Police to address the situation and secure the campus," its post read.
According to SPO1 Antonino delos Reyes of the Baliwag Police Station, the university received the threat as a private message on its official Facebook page at around 9:15 a.m.
"Sinabi na 'yung bomba ay puputok ng alas-onse [ng umaga]," he told GMA News Online in an interview.
Delos Reyes said the police conducted its search on-campus and waited there until 1 p.m. before declaring the area clear.
It was the second bomb threat the university received this month, with the first on September 5, which also forced its administration to suspend classes. The first bomb threat was sent via text message. —KBK, GMA News
