Magnitude-5.6 quake recorded off Taiwan-Batanes area

A magnitude-5.6 quake was recorded off the boundary of Taiwan and Batanes province in extreme Northern Philippines before noon Wednesday. The United States Geological Service (USGS) said the quake was recorded at 11 a.m. Wednesday, and the epicenter was traced to 112 km south-southeast of T'ai-tung, Taiwan. It said the epicenter was also about 150 km southeast of Kao-hsiung, Taiwan or 159 km west-northwest of Basco, Batanes. No casualty or damage to property was reported. - GMANews.TV
