Former Pampanga town vice mayor shot dead

Two gunmen killed a former vice-mayor in Pampanga at his resort in Apalit town on Friday afternoon.

Superintendent Wilson Alicunan, chief of the Apalit police, identified the slain victim as former town Vice Mayor Alex Manlapaz.

Alicunan said two unidentified gunmen killed Manlapaz at the Masa Royale resort in Barangay San Juan at past 1 p.m. The former official owned the resort.

Investigators said the former vice mayor's killers posed as resort customers.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind Manlapaz's killing. —report from Rommel Ramos/ALG, GMA News
