Quakes hit Odiongan town in Romblon


Two earthquakes shook the town of Odiongan in Romblon province early Saturday morning.

Citing information from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), a report on dzBB Super Radyo said the first tremor with 3.3 magnitude struck at about 5:33 a.m. with its center traced at 12 km north of Odiongan.

The second quake came at 5:40 a.m. with 4.1 magnitude and its epicenter was traced 4 km north of Odiongan.

Phivolcs said the quake was felt at Intensity I in Malay, Aklan and Intensity V in the towns of Santa Maria and San Agustin.

No damage is expected from the quakes, Phivolcs director Renato Solidum said. — LBG, GMA News
