Cops seize P200-M shabu on convicted car thief Dominguez’s tip
Pampanga police on Thursday recovered P200 million worth of shabu in an abandoned car in Apalit, Pampanga after they received a tip from convicted carnapper Raymond Dominguez.
A police report said the illegal substance was placed in 10 large packs weighing a total of 10 kilograms
Police said Dominguez told them that the shabu came from a Chinese national Wang Cuo Cuai, also known as Ryan Ong, an inmate at the New Bilibid Prison.
Dominguez was the leader of the notorious Dominguez Carnapping Group who was found guilty for a 2010 carjacking case. He was sentenced to a minimum of 17 years and four months to a maximum of 30 years at NBP.
In a QRT interview on Friday, Police Senior Supt. Rodolfo Recomono Jr., provincial director of Pampanga Police, narrated how they were able to communicate with Dominguez despite the signal jammers at the NBP.
“Tinawagan lang ako ng isang kaibigan na nakakakilala kay Raymond Dominguez. Siya yung nagsabi sa akin na kung pwede raw ay may magpunta kay Dominguez at magbibigay siya ng high-value information,” Recomono said.
“Itong mga nasabat nating droga were voluntarily surrendered ni Raymond Dominguez, that according to him, ito ay ipinag-ingat sa kanya and he was told to dispose itong mga items na ito. Instead, he opted to surrender it to us,” he added.
Recomono said they have already turned over the illegal substance to the crime lab for further examination.
Dominguez tested positive for illegal drugs after the Bureau of Corrections conducted a drug test at the NBP in relation to the stabbing incident in Building 14 on Sept. 28.
He was brought to the NBP Hospital on Friday after his blood pressure shot up. —Erwin Colcol/NB, GMA News
