Gunmen kill 2 in North Cotabato, take victims' motorcycle

A barangay health worker and her companion were killed when unidentified suspects ambushed them along the national highway in Aleosan, North Cotabato on Tuesday morning.

Senior Inspector Edwin Abantes, Aleosan police chief, identified the victims as Daisy Campoy, 54 and Ricardo Kalod, 49, residents of Barangay New Leon, Aleosan town.

The victims were on board a motorcycle on their way to the barangay hall when two motorcycle-riding gunmen shot them.

The gunmen took the victims' motorcycle.

Investigators were still investigating the assailants' motive for the attack.

The town's mayor has ordered the police to tighten security measures to prevent a similar incident. —ALG, GMA News
