Uprooted tree falls on vehicles in Laguna while one falls in river in Quezon

Adverse weather triggered a landslide in Laguna and strengthened river currents in Quezon, causing separate accidents in both provinces.

Balitanghali reported on Wednesday that a landslide in Majayjay uprooted a tree that then fell on two vans and a tricycle, though no one was injured.

Local authorities immediately carried out clearing operations on the road and reminded motorists to be careful to avoid accidents.

In Tagkawayan, Quezon, officials are still looking for a person who fell in the river as they and two others attempted to cross it.

According to the victim's companions, they were swept away by the river as they attempted to cross it on a motorcycle.

Though they were able to swim to safety, their third companion was unable to catch up as they did not know how to swim. —Rie Takumi/KG, GMA News
