2 tourists drown in Aurora due to bad weather

Two foreign tourists in Aurora province's  Casiguran town had drowned while swimming in a beach, a television report said Friday morning.

GMA News TV's "News To Go" identified the victims as Teresita Ramos, a Filipina who had become a US citizen, and Gerald Arthur Stephen, a Canadian.

Casiguran authorities said that Ramos was swimming when big waves spawned by bad weather swept her away.

Seeing Ramos in distress, Stephen tried to save her but failed and both of them drowned, the police said.

Meanwhile, continuous heavy rain has brought floods to Dilasag town, also in Aurora, after a river there overflowed, swamping low-lying areas including some roads in the municipality. —LBG, GMA News
