8 missing, 14 rescued as RoRo vessel sinks off Batangas
Eight crew members were missing while 14 others were rescued after a roll-on, roll-off (RoRo) ship sank off Tingloy town in Batangas province on Monday afternoon.
The Philippine Coast Guard identified the vessel as M/V Starlite Atlantic, which sank near Maricaban Island in Tingloy where Typhoon Nina made its sixth landfall at 10 a.m.

The incident was reported as the PCG was conducting rescue operations on another vessel, M/V Shuttle RoRo 5, which was sinking off Mabini, Batangas, where it sought shelter due to the typhoon.
All 25 crew members of M/V Shuttle RoRo 5 were rescued, the PCG said.
