4 dead in Iligan City fire

Four members of the Bilang family in Iligan City died after a fire hit their house early Wednesday morning, GMA News Stringer Merlyn Manos reported.
Fire Investigator FO3 Roel Lee said the fire occurred 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday in Phase 4, Doña Maria Subdivision, Barangay Tubod in Iligan City.
The fatalities were identified as Artemio Bilang, 56, Allen Bilang, 55, Arlene Bilang, 23, and 14-year old Farah Allen Bilang.
Based on initial investigation the cause of the fire could be faulty wiring because the family's neighbors heard explosions inside the house. The cost of damage was pegged at P100,000.
Marlon Rey Bilang, a relative of the victims, said that the last time he was with the family was during their Christmas celebration.
He added that they earlier agreed to meet on Wednesday so they can travel to Mahayag town in Zamboanga del Sur together. — BAP, GMA News
