14 barangays in Davao Del Norte town placed under state of calamity

A total of 14 barangays in Kapalong, Davao del Norte have been placed under state of calamity due to heavy flooding.

An Unang Balita report on Wednesday said that more than 900 residents of Kapalong town have been evacuated due to heavy flooding.

The town's gym, which was supposed to serve as an evacuation center, was also submerged in flood water. Several roads were impassable.

The livelihood of some residents were also affected as most of their crops and livestock were washed away by the flood.

This was the fourth time the residents experienced heavy flooding in a month, the report said. —Erwin Colcol/ALG, GMA News
