Passengers stranded at Cebu pier due to gale warning
Hundreds of passengers were stranded at the Cebu City pier on Wednesday due to a gale warning, a report on Unang Balita on Thursday said.
Fishing boats and small sea vessels weighing 250 tons and below were not allowed to sail due to big waves.
Passengers were constrained to take a ship en route to Bohol and Ormoc City, wherein tickets have started to run out.
A gale warning due to the northeast monsoon was raised by weather bureau PAGASA on Wednesday.
On Thursday, PAGASA said that from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday, "moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over whole Visayas and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough seas."
Last Tuesday, trips of small sea vessels from Bohol bound for Cebu City were also canceled. —Marlly Rome C. Bondoc/KG, GMA News
