Fire hits factory in Rosario, Cavite

A fire hit a factory at the Cavite Economic Zone in Rosario town on Wednesday evening.

GMA News' Jamie Santos reported on "Saksi," that the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) raised the alarm to Task Force Bravo as firefighters continue to work at the third floor of House Technology Industries in Phase 1 of the Economic Processing Zone Area in Cavite province.

The fire at the factory for pre-fabricated housing components started a few minutes after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to witnesses, the fire started at the second floor of the building and quickly spread because the stocks were made of light materials.

As of posting, there are about 50 factory employees who suffered burns and brought to the Divine Grace Medical Center.

An employee told GMA News that the fire spread too fast and there are some workers who rescued their colleagues before saving themselves

There are no details yet as to the cause of the fire and the cost of damage.
