Human error possible cause of deadly Tanay bus crash —AAP

A group of automobile owners believes that a possible human error was the cause of the tragic bus crash in Tanay, Rizal on Monday, leaving 15 people dead and several others wounded.

Former Land Transportation Office chairman Alberto Suansing, a member of the the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), believes that the brakes of the bus that figured in the deadly incident might not be defective, contrary to some claims.

An Unang Balita report on Thursday quoted Suansing as saying that the bus might have been speeding while negotiating a downhill road, and that when the driver applied the brakes the bus was already out of control.

Suansing said that an investigation into the position of the transmission gears before the bus slammed an electric post is needed to determine how fast it was going shortly before the crash. —LBG/KG, GMA News
