Local council to launch first price billboard in Iligan City
The Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) is launching an Electronic Price Billboard (EPB) at the Central Public Market in Barangay Poblacion, Iligan City, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said Thursday.
The EPB will include prices of basic necessities such as canned sardines, processed and fresh milk, bread, instant noodles, bottled water and coffee.
It may also include prices of detergents and laundry soap, rice, corn, fish, pork and beef meat, egg, sugar, cooking oil, vegetables, root crops, kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
"With the installation of the Electronic Price Billboard, the buying public would be able to check prevailing prices of basic necessities and prime commodities under the jurisdiction of DTI, Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and natural Resources (DENR), and Department of Energy (DOE)," the DTI said.
"Prevailing prices of other petroleum products like diesel and gasoline will also be reflected in the EPB," it said.
According to the DTI, the EPB at the Central Market is the first in Iligan City and Lanao del Norte, if not in Northern Mindanao. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS, GMA News
