8 nabbed during Independence Day celebrations in Kawit, Cavite
Eight individuals were arrested on Monday after causing a commotion during the celebration of the 119th anniversary of Philippine Independence in Kawit, Cavite, Super Radyo DZBB’s James Agustin reported.
The apprehended persons, who introduced themselves as members of groups Bayan and Gabriela, were nabbed by police after raising their fists and shouting “Huwad na kalayaan!” as Sen. Panfilo Lacson delivered his speech during the event.
The nabbed persons were brought inside a police mobile as they continued to shout and raise their fists.

Super Radyo DZBB attempted to interview the arrested individuals but they were prevented by the police.
Lacson and Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo led the celebrations at Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite, where Philippine independence was proclaimed on June 12, 1898.

Flowers were also offered at the grave of former President Emilio Aguinaldo at the back of the shrine.
