A relative claimed that the body found dumped on Caloocan City's Balintawak Road was not that of Alvin Mabesa, a person-of-interest in the so-called Bulacan massacre, GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend" reported.

Mabesa's relative, Manny Roa, was shown the body recovered from Balintawak Road for possible identification, but said he was sure it was not Mabesa.

The body found on Balintawak road bore multiple gunshot wounds. A signage left with the corpse alleged that the victim was a drug-pusher and rapist.

Roa and other  Mabesa relatives also claimed that Mabesa had been kidnapped and had been missing for several weeks now. They, however, insisted that Mabesa was innocent of the allegations against them.

San Jose-Bulacan police chief Supt. Fritz Macariola said that he would like to interview Mabesa's relatives to glean how much they knew about the case. "Ako sana, personally, ang makikipag-usap para makita kung ano 'yuing binanggit sa kanya ni Alvin the day na nangyari 'yung incident," said Macariola.

Also - because three of the persons-of-interest in the Bulacan massacre had been killed suggesting the involvement of vigilantes, and because of the allegations that the fourth person-of-interest, Mabesa, had been kidnapped - Philippine National Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa has taken an interest in the case.

"Pa-imbistegahan natin," said dela Rosa. "Merong kaukulang investigation ginagawa ang Bulacan para diyan. Malalaman natin kung anong nangyari, at bakit." — Margaret Claire Layug/DVM/KVD, GMA News
